Key layout "Split" and extended wrist pad.
It has the "traditional" 2 row x 3 column arrangement for insert/delete/home/end/Pg up/Pg dn and inverted-T for arrows. There are other similar MS Natural keyboards, but they try to save some space on the 6 keys and arrow keys. Eeuch!
Does the ergonomic design really work?
Yes, I am a "big boy" and find that the "split" is just enough to provide a more natural wrist position for me.
My Review
I had a brush with RSI at the start of my IT career so I am very conscious of workstation layout. When I go to workstation with a "normal" keyboard I notice the strain on my wrist immediately.
The main "con" for this type of keyboard is that it has a slightly larger than "normal" footprint. That was actually how I got my first one. A secretary had one, she transferred, and the new secretary had a keyboard tray that was just a bit too small. Great, I got the hand-me-down and lived happily ever after.
I liked it so much, that when I saw some on sale I bought 4, so I could take one into work and have spares to replace them as they died.
