A galley/corridor kitchen with only one usable wall is the least ergonomic option for this layout. But if your kitchen is small then you do not have many options in the first place. To maximize the efficiency of this kitchen layout work alone. There is not room for two people to work comfortably together.

Ergonomic Options

  • Instead of a kitchen work triangle you have a line - place the sink in the middle, flanked by the cook top and refrigerator
  • Ensure there is ample counter top space between your work sites - 12-24 inches between the refrigerator and sink and 24-30 inches between the sink and cook top
  • Provide counter space on both sides of the cook top - minimum of 12 inches
