A
galley/corridor kitchen with an entry on both ends is a common option for this layout. While not the most
ergonomics, it provides a pass through traffic lane. It is most often found where one entry is from an outside door or a utility/laundry room. When the second entry is from an outside door then congestion is bound to be present as the traffic lane passes through the
kitchen work triangle (or other work zone). If it is from a closed utility room then the congestion will be minimized.
Ergonomic Options
- Ensure the passage between counters is wide enough to allow for two people to pass each other - minimum of 4 feet
