Diabetic Neuropathy

Definition: Diabetic neuropathy is a form of neuropathy that is caused by diabetes. Neuropathy is a nerve disorder that results in distortion of nerve function.

Numbness, tingling and pain are symptoms of neuropathy. These sensations often start in the extremities (fingers and toes) and can work there way inward. Nerve damage associated with neuropathy can lead to damage of the internal organs.
