Ergo

Question: Ergo
Answer: Ergo is a commonly used prefix used to denote that something is ergonomic. The term ergonomic is created from two Greek words: ergon, meaning work, and nomoi, meaning natural laws. However the prefix ergo is not intended to mean work as it's root word would imply.

Instead the prefix ergo is mainly a marketing term used to name a product and give it the connotation that it possesses good ergonomics and is worth the money to buy it. Marketers in the American market place do the same thing with the prefix euro.

It is important to note that there are no governing bodies that regulate claims of ergonomics. So just because the product is called the "ergo-mop" there is nothing but your own judgement that proves it is ergonomic.
