The Bottom Line

The Radius Pro line of landscaping and gardening tools are good tools. And they bring the same great ergonomic handling characteristics found on there hand tool line to the larger brethren. The round handle lets you handle the shovel without breaking the natural wrist position which gives you greater control and strength.

Those health and otherbenefits of ergonomic lawn and garden tools make the Radius Pro line of Landscaping tools worth checking out.

Pros

  • Round handle provides ergonomic control
  • Ergonomic grip surface
  • Strong steel shaft
  • Usable by both short and tall people
  • Compact size for convenient storage

Cons

  • Handle shaft is too short for lower grip
  • Grip position makes a heavily loaded fork unbalanced
  • Slight flex where the head attaches to the shaft

Description

  • A round handle at the end of the shaft of the Radius Pro Border Fork allows you to grip the tool at any comfortable angle.
  • A soft, slip resistant grip surface covers the shaft.
  • A resin encased, steel shaft provides a super strong backbone to the Radius Pro Border Fork.
  • The size of the Radius Pro Border Fork makes it easy to handle whether you are short, tall or average.
  • The Radius Pro Border Fork has a shaft a couple of feet shorter than a conventional shovel.
  • The lower grip area may not be low enough for good balance.
  • There is some flex where the head is joined to the shaft which might give a user pause, but it is stronger than wood.

Guide Review - Radius Pro Border Fork Ergonomic Product Review

The Radius Pro Border Fork is a good fork. You can grip it over or underhanded with comfort and control. The round handle also gives you a better grip when thrusting or pushing into the ground or pile of whatever you are moving.

There is a slight bit of flex in the shaft where the head is pinned to the steel shaft of the handle. But it took more force than a wooden handle could take and it showed no problems with handling more.

The only problem is with the lower grip area. The length of the tool is great, but the head is too long and the shaft is too short. This means the lower grip area is to far back so that when you have a heavy load on the fork your lower hand is not at the balance point.
