In fact operating this tool is quick, easy and intuitive. It is lightweight with a good handle size. It is well balanced with either blade attached. And the trigger and safety are easily operated. An optional extension handle increase the reach and usability of this tool.
I don't trust hedge trimmers. They are a dangerous tool. I put them on par with a chain saw. Although a hedge trimmer wont cut through your bones like a chainsaw will, it'll go to town on your soft tissue. Making things worse is the lack of respect hedge trimmers get. You respect a chainsaw when you rev it up, but most people think nothing of a hedge trimmer.
That's one reason I like the Black & Decker Cordless Shear/Shrubber. The 6 inch shrubber blade is easy and safe to manage. Unlike the awkwardness present in 24-30 inch bladed units. And the 7.2 volt power is enough for most shrub trimming tasks, but low enough to limit serious injury.
