Glare is one of the main overall causes of eye strain. By reducing or eliminating glare, you can prevent a lot of eye strain. However, with the right ergonomic setup, practices and equipment you can fight the glare monster.

How to Reduce Contrast

Contrast is another major cause of eye strain. The relative brightness of the things you are looking at can wear your eyes out. If there is too much contrast it is hard for your eyes to focus. If there is too little contrast it is difficult for your eyes to distinguish what it is looking at. Either way, if you do not reduce contrast, your eyes are working too hard.
