When Should I See a Doctor About My Eye Strain?

By , About.com Guide

Question: When Should I See a Doctor About My Eye Strain?
Answer: If you have occasional bouts of eye strain then a doctor's visit is probably not necessary. However, if you have regular bouts of eye strain or severe discomfort or pain, then you should see an eye doctor.

Your eye doctor will find it helpful if you can diagnose your eye strain and identify the exact cause of your eye strain. But it's also OK to see your doctor straight away for this information since they can help with that, too.

Even if you don't suffer from eye strain, you should have a yearly eye exam.
