Staying up to date on the latest
ergonomic research and developments is always a good thing. Here are some of the top conferences, symposiums and annual meetings that showcase the leading edge of ergonomics.
The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) is considered by many to be the parent organization for the discipline. The proceedings from these meetings showcase research and design developments from around the world. "HFES annual meetings are important events for the Society's members and others who are interested in the latest developments in the field."
ErgoExpo (formerly The National Ergonomics Conference and Exposition (NECE)) is one of the best places to go to stay up to date on ergonomic issues from the industry side. The ErgoExpo is a "business" ergonomics event as opposed to an "academic" one. It is the largest ergonomics event in the nation and covers things like work place injury reduction, productivity enhancement and systematic improvements are the bread and butter of this conference.
The Applied Ergonomics virtual community hosts this conference annually. As the name implies this conference focuses on the actual application of ergonomics and not the research behind it, as the HFES Annual Meeting does. They also award the Ergo Cup.
The Eastern Ergonomics Conference is a child of the NECE. It focuses on ergonomic issues that employers often have to deal with. Ergonomic best practices, compliance and productivity are this conferences forte.
The Ergo Symposium is a one-day conference designed to help you prevent on-the-job injuries no matter your industry.
