Description

  • The ornament switch can be placed any where on the Christmas tree to make it convenient for anyone to turn the lights on.
  • As long as you remember where you put it and what it looks like, all you have to do is touch it to operate it.
  • The touch switch is tried-and-true technology, and is safe to use on a live Christmas tree.
  • A basic product; don't count on seeing a brand name on it. But you don't see brand names on those light strands either.
  • It is a seasonal product and may be hard to come by, but it is worth the trouble to look for it.

Guide Review - Touch Christmas Tree Lights Ornament Switch

The Touch Christmas Tree Lights Control is composed of three parts: a transformer, a wire and an ornament switch.

The touch switch is a simple brass (or silver) ornament. Hang the ornament in a convenient place on your Christmas tree and attach the wire. Run the wire through your tree down to the transformer. Plug your strand of lights into the transformer and your done.

Now, assuming your lights are still working after a year in the attic, touch the ornament with a sections of bare skin. The lights go on or off with that simple touch.

The typical transformer is rated to control up to 1200 miniature Christmas tree lights (or 600 watts) so it should handle your entire tree.

These switches may be hard to find. They'll be next to the holiday extension chord stuff. And like the extension chords, they do not typically come in a brand name package. The controller I reviewed was manufactured by Carlon, an electrical supply manufacturer for the retail store I found it at.
