The Short Stop

The Short Stop moves a short distance before finding a stowage place for the bag. The bag is usually kept close by. They may move to many points within a day, but they are always a short distance and the bag is stowed upon arrival. Location changes may be such that hand carrying, dragging, sliding, or even kicking the bag is all that is necessary to move it.

• Stowed under or behind a seat or on an overhead rack during transport
• Usually found at he feet or in the chair next to the Short Stop throughout the day

Other Ergonomic Considerations

• Size is key - For a bag that needs to be stowed in multiple locations, the smaller the better. It can fit in more places.
  
• No snags - Keep the amount of accouterments, loops, straps, bungees and other snag hazards to a minimum. It will make getting the bag in and out of the stowage location easier.
  
• Light weight - Keep the weight down. Not only does it make it easier to move the bag around, but lifting a heavy bag overhead or over a seat back or other obstacle can put the child in an awkward position and cause serious injury.
