In the Bag
- Soccer ball, football, 2 tennis balls, 7 golf ball tees and a hacky sac
- Windbreaker, cap, sun glasses, sun glass cleaning kit
- Change of clothes for extra-curricular activities with two extra pairs of socks
- Equipment for extra-curricular activities
- Spare school supplies
Best Book Bag for Your Child
- A large, properly fitted, properly loaded ergonomic back pack
- Separate lunch bag
- Separate extra-curricular activities bag or sports duffel - shoulder straps if under 50% of maximum backpack weight, roller duffel if over
Other Ergonomic Considerations
- Remove any unnecessary items. If you've already tried and can't seem to remove enough essentials to decrease the bulk then use the "One Week Rule". If it has not been touched for a week remove it (secretly if need be) until it is needed. This can help prioritize carrying needs.
- Encourage the use of the "locker" to "store" things.
- Find a more permanent storage location for things that do not need to be taken home everyday.
