Guide Review - Aeron Chair

A few years ago Herman Miller decided to try a new approach to designing the perfect office chair, no ground rules, no preconceived notions. The design team was free to dream and they dreamed up a beauty. The resulting Aeron chair is a revolution in office furniture. It was designed to interact with you and not just sit there. It actively intercedes on behalf of your health.

The Aeron chair adjusts to any position you assume for any task you perform. The adjustments are simple, allowing you to change your posture regularly while working. It actually fits you. It fits you as an individual, not just you as a collective demographic.

The Aeron chair is also designed to be Earth friendly with replaceable and repairable parts.

The best part about the Aeron chair is the Pellicle suspension system. Comprised of a special material that is strong and stretchy, it envelopes your back and bottom to support you while distributing the load over the entire area thereby minimizing pressure points. And the mesh allows airflow to your skin to keep you comfortable and dry.

Some may find the back of the Aeron chair to be slightly short for full support. It supports the shoulder blades, the most essential part, but if you want full back and shoulder support you may be out of luck depending on your size.

The Aeron chair is expensive, ranging from $900-$1400 depending on the options. But repair and maintenance is affordable if it is needed.

Overall, once you have the Aeron chair sitting under you, most people will be hard pressed to find anything to complain about.

Uncomfortable, Akward, Dissapointing, Member Adaminski

My wife(5'3"" 120lbs) works in a 50 person office. All 50 people got AERON chairs. Woo hoo. 10 people revolted and wanted to get rid of them. My wife, an optimist invested in extra lumbar support, a fancy floating tilting footrest, and after about 2 year gave up. She couldn't lean back in it due to the high tension. We bought her a comfy chair, (still modern looking) with padding and such, and in the middle of the night smuggled the AERON to my office. I am average. 6, 166lbs, and after a few weeks I hate it. My legs are unsupported even when I use a foot rest, my sacrum digs into the hard-plastic, i find it difficult to adjust. The seat is too short. My knees actually hurt!!! Try it before you schlep it into your office or get rid of your other chair. dissapointed!!!
