Ergonomic Material Handling Basics

Shipping, distribution and manufacturing all revolve around the moving of material and good from one place to another. Some estimates say that 35% of all worker compensation claims come from manual material handling. There's a lot of work and stress involved in moving palettes around. [p] There is a lot of work going into making this an easier task to handle. Modern Materials Handling has a great article on ergonomic material handling basics. Some of the new or improved handling methods it discusses are lift tables, cranes, Intelligent Assist Devices and vacuum manipulators.
